ABOUT ME

Many say this, but I mean it — I’ve been curious since birth. So much so that my parents were relieved when I was old enough to pester Google with my questions instead of laying it all on them. This very curiosity led me to explore science, art, sports, academics, and even living abroad. My research career formally began in college, where I found myself both in the lab and out in the field. Time in both settings led me to deeper questions — namely, whether or not science-adjacent things even matter in the real world if they’re not communicated well. The answer to this came quickly: no, they don’t.

So, I became obsessed with the communication of the sciences. It led me to my first startup, a personalized nutrition site, where I authored articles that broke complex health information down into bite-sized, accessible pieces. This kind of communication required empathy, as well as the ability to understand and investigate the perspectives of the audience. The more I got into the head of the reader, the more I realized the importance of being user-focused; taking their goals, behaviors, and environment into account so that a product meets their needs almost organically. I realized this needed to be an end-to-end approach, so for my next opportunity, I sought to lay the groundwork from the beginning.

This led me to my second startup, Unveil Social, where I worked on an app designed to help users shed light on their relationship potential with anyone they know, and anyone they could happen to meet. From the beginning, I was able to shape the product by keeping users at the forefront of design, marketing, and strategic decisions. Through intensive qualitative and quantitative research, I delved into the ins and outs of how our users approached dating, got familiar with their pain points and grievances, and used these insights to mold the app to fit seamlessly into not just the market gaps, but the users’ lifestyles most importantly.

As for now? I’m on the prowl for my next UXR challenge — so if you’re building a world-benefiting thing, reach out! Let’s build together.
